CFIVA MEETS TOP GOVERNMENT ADVISOR

Sunday, February 24, 2002

Members of CFIVA meet Colonel-General Imra Agotic to press their members' concerns over the issue of campaign medals to veterans and families of the deceased
Association Secretary Tom Biddulph and chosen representatives of the Croatian Forces International Volunteers Association attended a meeting on 19th December 2001 at the Dorchester Hotel, London with Colonel-General Imra Agotic HV, personal advisor to President Stipe Mesic of Croatia. During the Presdident's state visit to Great Britain, the first ever by a Croatian Head of State, the General was very kind to allow the delegation of former International Volunteers an hour to place before him the problems of foreign veterans of the Croatian Armed Forces, war disablement pensions issues, apartments, medals etc and the proper recognition of the part played by foreign citizens in the Croatian Armed Forces in the nation's Homeland War of 1991-95. At the conclusion of the meeting, General Agotic presented Secretary Biddulph with a gift, an engraved Croatian coat of arms set into crystal. Our gratitude once again goes to the Defence Attache at the Croatian Embassy in London, Brigadir Milan Knezevic HV, who worked hard during an especially busy period for his Embassy to make our meeting possible.

The Secretary
