Our new blazer badge
|
After a few years begging the leadership to do something about it, members of the Croatian Forces International Volunteers Association now have their very own OFFICIAL blazer badges, superbly hand embroidered by craftsmen in gold, silver wire thread and coloured silk thread. They are 7.5cm x 8.5cm (3.5 inches) big on a black felt background and can be sewn onto the breast pocket of a black blazer/jacket or mounted in a picture frame for wall display.
Based upon a representation of the Association's emblem, which is itself adapted from the original cap badge of the fledgling ZNG-RH, the Croatian National Guard of 1991. Crowning the emblem is a scroll bearing the Association's motto Za Slobodu (For Freedom), a phrase that was a common sight on TV screens and posters throughout an embattled Croatia during those dark days. Underneath are two scrolls carrying the name of the Association in English to emphasize the fact that some 2,800 foreign citizens proudly fought in the ranks of the regular Croatian and Bosnian Armed Forces and with the Liberation Army of Kosova.
The badges are available exclusively to full members of the Association, or to families of fallen International Volunteers.
