Cody Richmond

An English volunteer, Cody was serving with the 2nd Battalion of the 104th Brigade HVO when he participated in a reconnaissance of Serb positions at Grebina in Bosanska Posavina. He was in No Manメs Land, just a hundred metres from Serb lines when his group came under intense enemy rifle fire; a German volunteer was killed and Cody was also seen to take a hit and go down. That night, the 2nd Battalionメs Intervention team went out and were able to recover the Germanメs body though they were unable to locate Cody. His commander immediately requested the help of the International Committee of the Red Cross but they refused to make enquiries unless a relative of Codyメs came forward. His ultimate fate remains unknown, though it can be taken as certain that Cody lost his life. The incident occurred in 1993 or 1994.
