Hans SchtefenHans was a volunteer from eastern Germany, remembered as being very tall; 210cm and weighing 110kg, he possessed a head of noticeably blond hair. He came to Croatia in September 1992 and joined the Armija BiH at the Bosnian Embassy in Zagreb. After training at Rijeka he was posted to the 7. Brigade at Jajce where he fought in many frontline actions. He may have later transferred to the HVO when in January 1994 he was reported to have committed suicide in the town of Travnik. No further details are known.
