Unknown Volunteer
Whilst serving in the Bosnian-Croat Army, the HVO he was allegedly murdered by a British volunteer in the Glamoc-Grahovo-Kupres area of western Bosnia during 1995. They had been out on patrol together and according to his murderer, the Australian had made repeated mistakes and errors that had put both their lives at risk. When they returned to their own lines, he took it upon himself to be judge, jury and executioner and, rather than expel the Australian from the frontline as had happened elsewhere so many times before in similar circumstances, the British volunteer shot him dead.
NB: This account may in fact relate to Lieutenant Ronnie Pereversov (see separate entry) and may be no more than the murderers' naive attempt to justify himself.
